SO WE DID IT!!

aloha all,

Well after much praying and contemplating and discussing, we decided to get married. So we tied the knot on October 17, 2009 at 5 pm at my chapel. Witnesses were Tamaiti Murray, a good friend of Micah's and his cousin and my good friend and Tita Maiki Naone. We kept it small (for a Hawaiian Luau) to mostly family (have you ever heard of a small family) and only a few friends. My Mom and Dad flew back for the wedding. When I get my photos back I will post them, but the wedding was really nice and we are very happy.

We plan on going home next year to be sealed in the Laie, Hawaii Temple. (it should be open by then). So we are now Mr. and Mrs. We have been married for a little over a month and its been trial after trial, but we are good. We try our best to keep close to the Lord and we are very grateful for the gospel in our lives that keeps us going. "for with God nothing is impossible". We will try our best to keep this updated, so keep a look out for photos from our wedding and maybe even some video.

SIKE !!!

Kay so we did not get married. The wedding has been postponed, but no date has been chosen yet. We are looking at next year some time. We are looking at snow cold and who knows. No worries....Micah and I did not break up or anything.....we are still much in love and are still looking forward to when we do get to start our life together as husband and wife. There isn't much more I can say.

Here we are.....engagements

So here are the photos that we decided on... On Sunday after Church we took our photos for our invitations. At first we were not going to have photos since Micah was going to come right before the wedding, but since he came as early as he did we had the opportunity to take some photos. Maiki was the photographer and we decided on these three. I chose one that he didn't like. He chose one that I didn't like and we were both just okay with the third one. Anyways this is what we got. I was okay with using the photo that I have at the top if we needed to but Micah wanted photos that he knew was being taken for this exact purpose....rather than photos of us as we just goof around. Let me know what you think?

Micah is Utah Bound

The latest news is that Micah arrives Thursday morning. One way ticket here and it will change his life forever. It is the hardest decision he has made, to leave his home, his family and depart to Utah. When friends ask him why....his reply is to make me happy, but he admits to me it's for him too.

The first time he came here, he decided that he would one day move here, where he feels the spirit is so strong and loves the idea of the gospel is here in full force. So almost two years later he makes the move to the state with the best SNOW ever. Is this Island Boy ready to face the dry heat, white Christmas, and even the Utah Drivers? I think I have become one.

Where is his first stop? The Olive Garden, the place all local people head to if they have never been there. They play the commercial at home but no restaurant to go to. So it will be his first. It was either there or RED ROBIN. I would chose Olive Garden too.

So 2 days for him to get here and 50 or so days for our wedding. It will be a crazy month or so getting our wedding together (and the in person dating) I haven't seen him in about 5 months. Friday night....we will be at the Hawaiian Cultural Center for Kanikapila. WOO HOO!!

Welcome Home Elder Kawika Kauwe

Today Kawika returned home from Mozambique serving a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He seems to be a little bewildered and lost, but he has definitely grown spiritually and has a quiet dignity to him. He brought back some great art work and souvenirs. He has to get use to the family and the kids. It took a bit for Bug to get to know him, but Sai seemed to do well right off the back. It takes time to adjust and get back into the groove, but hey it will come. Welcome Home Kawika....it's great to have you home.
