19 November 2015

2015, 2014, no let's make it 2013.

Here I go again.  Yes I once again did not keep up with the blog like I wanted, and then two and a half years later I am here to post ....something....anything.

Today is November 19, 2015 and I have seemed to forget that I started a blog to record the happenings of our life.  I have never been a great journal writer and so I am not surprised that I took a a break and even my last post I wrote about something that happened a year prior.  I guess I will have to keep to that  and share something of 2014.  I do hope that I will not wait till next year to share about this year.

Okay, scratch that...let's just go back to 2013.  December 26, 2013 marked my dad's 70th birthday.  Mom wanted to surprise him and so we tried our best and pulled it off.

I thought the turn out was pretty good for a get together the day after Christmas.  We were able to celebrate at the Lanakila LDS Chapel and dad had no idea.  The Mirandas insisted that they take my dad out to dinner and so they picked up mom and dad for a night out to celebrate....however they had to "deliver some salad to a single adult activity".  Dad was able to help out and brought in the salad to his own SURPRISE party.  Dad walked in and we just started singing and he turned around and walked out the door...and then came back in of course.  It was great.  The food was ono.  There was a slide show of  some photos from Dad's younger years, and it was nice to be gathered together as family and friends once again.

Thank you all that was able to be there and also in spirit.  Thank you for all those that helped set up and decorated, clean up and cook and just everything that made it a memorable night for us and especially my dad.

This concludes my post of  2015 for the year 2013.  Hopefully I will share real soon a memory of 2014 or who knows....I may surprise you.
